Successful First Session of the Second Round of the IPR-A Student Seminars
On Tuesday, March 4th, Tero PC had the pleasure of hosting the first session of the second round of IPR-A Student Seminars, an initiative under the Erasmus+ project IPR-A. The event took place at Mediterranean College in Thessaloniki, Greece, welcoming a diverse group of students specializing in sports and coaching, all eager to deepen their understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for Athletes. We were privileged to be greeted by Prof. Chris Karavas, a distinguished expert in Sports Management, who shared valuable insights from his extensive experience in the field.
Exploring the Importance of IPRs for Athletes
The seminar focused on raising awareness and encouraging dialogue around the protection of athletes’ intellectual property, emphasizing the necessity of securing proper recognition and fair compensation for their name, image, and personal brand. Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, exchanging perspectives on how IPRs can shape the future of sports and protect athletes’ rights across Europe.
Lively Discussions and Active Participation
The session sparked dynamic conversations, with attendees actively contributing to debates on the role and impact of IPRs in sports. Students had the opportunity to voice their opinions, share knowledge, and explore potential strategies to enhance awareness and strengthen the implementation of Intellectual Property Rights in the sports industry.
Moving Forward
The success of this session underscores the increasing awareness of Intellectual Property Rights in sports, reinforcing the importance of equipping athletes with the knowledge and resources to navigate the complexities of IPR protection. As the IPR-A project progresses, we remain committed to developing tools, policies, and educational resources to support athletes, sports professionals, and stakeholders in securing their intellectual rights.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants, partners, and supporters who contributed to making this event a success. Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming activities.
